This field holds the date that the app should no longer be validated on a calculator. It is stored as seconds after midnight on 1/1/1997 in big endian.

This really is a terrible system for validating apps. The date is stored in the 032 field of the certificate and never gets updated unless you actually update it. As of writing this in 2011, my calculator has a date stamp of 3/8/1997. That is not going to reject a single app.
