In the case of PutMap, it changes the "gravity" of the pixels; displaying an inverted
character darkens the pixels to the left of it, whereas displaying a normal character
clears the pixels to the right.

Could you explain that a bit better? I'm having trouble grasping what you mean by that. --Andy Janata 20:44, 1 Aug 2005 (PDT)
